Watermelon OG has quickly become a favourite across North American dispensaries, thanks to its fruity aromas/flavours and hard-hitting effects. This variety by Advanced Seeds pays great tribute to the Watermelon OG flying off of US dispensary shelves, combining genes from an elite Melon Purple clone and Black OG. The resulting strain is a 50/50 indica/sativa hybrid that can grow almost anywhere and produces thick, sticky buds with a delicious sweet fruit aroma.
Growing Watermelon OG is super simple. Thanks to its versatile grow traits, the strain can easily be cultivated indoors and outdoors, in greenhouses, or in advanced ScrOG or SOG setups. Indoors, Watermelon OG plants will readily grow to about 100cm tall, while outdoor plants can reach heights of up to 200cm. As they veg, Watermelon OG plants will grow into nice, compact shrubs, with great lateral branching and strong central stems. Once in bloom, Watermelon OG plants take roughly 60 days to reach maturity. Yields will vary depending on your growing style and skill, but Advanced Seeds claims that Watermelon OG is capable of producing up to 550g/m² indoors with equivalent yields outside. Watermelon OG is known for taking on beautiful purple hues, which often intensify in cooler climates.
