Cali Connection - Pre 98 Bubba: Coffee-kissed aroma and hashy and musky flavor
The feminized Pre 98 Bubba by The Cali Connection is the revival of a legendary Indica dominant hybrid, formerly only available as clones. We assume Swerve used his trusty male San Fernando Valley OG Kush to pollinate and later, to stabilize this blast from the past. Originally bred for the 2010 High Times Amsterdam Cannabis Cup, he didn't have enough dried buds to enter the competition for the Indica category, but he had successfully resurrected a Californian legend.
The feminized Pre 98 Bubba grows pretty much like the original Bubba Kush, but with slight variations to the phenotypes. After a flowering time of 8 weeks, the majority of the buds will look like the typical golf ball shaped nuggets, but some can be more slender, in the shape of stretched pine-cones, wherein both types have amber-brown pistils and a nice layer of crystals with a grayish look.
The smell of Pre 98 Bubba weed is great - a slightly sweet, creamy, coffee-touched aroma with herby, hashy and musky back-notes, reminding of the Afghani/Pakistani roots of this variety. Smoking the fruits of Pre 98 Bubba won't leave your throat indifferent, but it will not cause choking or coughing fits - your taste buds are going to be flooded with a mostly musky and hashy flavor, with a lingering touch of coffee.
Pre 98 Bubba induces a creeping high that gradually sneaks into your body and after a few minutes you will feel warm and content and slightly dazed, your muscles relax, your mental activity slows down, but never to a level that you feel tired or lose functionality. Moreover it helps with pain, anxiety and lack of appetite. At the other end of the scale sits Deadhead OG, a Sativa dominant sister that needs 9 to 11 weeks and a working carbon filter.
