Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) Extract: Meet Asia's "Immortality Mushroom"
The reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum) is a rare mushroom native to East Asia that grows on the stumps of ageing trees (especially maples) in hot and humid regions. It has a long, rich history in many Asian cultures, which hold the mushroom in high regard. While naturally rich in carbohydrates, protein, and fiber, reishi mushrooms aren't made to be eaten—instead, they need to be carefully dosed and used as a supplement, as they can cause negative side effects in high doses. When dosed correctly, however, reishi mushrooms are believed to have beneficial effects on wellness. This extract, which is made from organically grown reishi mushrooms, contains a minimum of 30% polysaccharides. To achieve such high concentrations, 15–18kg of dried mushroom powder is required to produce 1kg of extract.
At a minimum of 30% polysaccharides, this is the concentrated end of the whole mood range, where the same mushroom also comes as capsules and a tincture.
Powder too earthy for your coffee? The Reishi Mushroom Tincture gets the same species into a dropper bottle.
