Organic Golden Berries: A Secret Inca Super Fruit
Also known as Inca berries, Peruvian groundcherries, cape gooseberry, or aguaymanto by locals in Peru, Ecuador, and Chile, Inca berries are the fruit of Physalis peruviana. The cultivation and use of golden berries date back to the time of the Incan Empire, and continue today. These sweet, golden cherry-like fruits are closely related to the tomatillo and boast a delicious tropical flavour reminiscent of pineapples and mangoes. The berries are packed with nutrients as well as vitamins and minerals that contribute to their many benefits. These berries are organically cultivated and processed in Peru, and are ready to enjoy as a snack, in juices or teas, or as an ingredient in sweet and savoury dishes.
