Growers Choice - Forbidden Runtz: A Ferocious, Resilient, and Sweet Indica Hybrid
Forbidden Runtz is a hybrid strain from Growers Choice that combines genetics from Forbidden Fruit, an indica-dominant Tangie and Cherry Pie cross, and Runtz, a new classic from the US known for its sweet candy aroma and relaxing head–body high.
Forbidden Runtz is a compact strain growing to roughly 80–120cm in height indoors and out. Her indica dominance shines through very quickly as she develops into a bushy, stocky plant with thick foliage and short internodes. Being 70% indica, Forbidden Runtz is somewhat forgiving to low temperatures and over or underfeeding. She also responds really well to training and is very resilient to pests and most pathogens.
If you grow Forbidden Runtz outdoors, we recommend keeping her out of the rain, especially during her late flowering phase, as her thick foliage and dense buds can easily trap moisture. Indoors, Forbidden Runtz takes around 8 weeks of bloom to reach maturity, whereas outdoors she is ready for picking by late September in the Northern Hemisphere and the end of March in the South.
At harvest time, Forbidden Runtz will reward with beautiful, dense, and heavy buds coated with a thick coating of fragrant resin. Her aroma is reminiscent of the original Runtz, combining super-sweet notes of citrus, berries, pineapple, banana, and mango with subtle yet notable hints of spice. With 25–30% THC, Forbidden Runtz hits hard and fast with a combination of mental stimulus and a tingly body buzz. We recommend smoking her in moderation, as overindulging can lead to couch-lock. Although for some smokers, that is a benefit.
