Sweet Seeds – Jack 47 F1 Fast Version: 1-2 weeks faster and equally potent
Sweet Seeds' breeders discovered that crossing non-autoflowering strains with autoflowering genetics can be a good way to reduce the flowering time of the next generation of plants. The F1 generation does not carry the autoflowering trait, but is instead grown just as you would grow a common feminized strain. Sweet Seeds put their Jack 47 through this process: the original and highly popular Jack 47 was crossed with Jack 47 Auto, resulting in a non-autoflowering F1 generation with a flowering period that is approximately 1-2 weeks shorter.
Skunk purists can pick Sweet Skunk F1 Fast Version, an Early Skunk x Sweet Skunk Auto that finishes in 6 to 7 weeks.
Jack 47 F1 Fast Version has 75% Sativa genetics, and needs a flowering period of 7-8 weeks to fully mature. The original Jack 47 usually needs a flowering period of 9-10 weeks. Indoor yields of up to 500-600g/m² are still feasible, and outdoor growers can harvest their plants by mid September, reducing the chance of mould destroying their precious crops. These plants grow with exceptional vigour, and produce large buds that are fully covered by a thick layer of sticky resin.
Flavours and effects are mainly responsible for the huge success of Jack 47, and are also one of the main arguments for growing the F1 Fast Version of this strain. The taste and aroma can be described as a blend of fresh, sweet, and flowery tones, with noticeable hints of incense and lemon. It’s definitely a great tasting variety, and the very strong uplifting effects help to make this strain complete. Another photoperiod bred to wrap up early is S.A.D. F1 Fast Version, which trades the lemon and incense edge for something heavier and more resinous.
The original Jack 47 is an outstandingly good performing cannabis strain, and the F1 Fast Version is no exception. Reducing the flowering time by 1-2 weeks doesn’t necessarily sound like a revolution one has to go crazy about, but this time span can mean a big difference for outdoor growers who can potentially harvest before the weather shifts. Indoor growers will profit from an increased efficiency, and can save money spent on electricity.
