VIP Seeds – Power VIP: Sativa effects and sweet Indica flavours
VIP Seeds enriched the genetic makeup of a South African Sativa with about 40% Indica genetics to improve both indoor and outdoor performance. Sativa-dominant hybrids from South Africa are valued for their ability to deliver a clear-headed high and a sharp, peppery taste. Hybridizing such a strain with a resin-producing Indica resulted in Power VIP.
VIP's other published-number strain is Currant Kush: 22% THC and a sour berry bite, done a week sooner.
It takes a flowering period of 65-70 days to produce indoor yields of up to 450g/m². Other sativa-dominant strains with similar yields usually need much longer to fully mature. The Indica genetics are responsible for the shorter flowering time, and for raising the suitability of Power VIP to be grown outdoors, where it will yield up to 400-600g per plant. These plants triple in size once they reach the flowering period, making it necessary for indoor growers to switch to a 12/12 lighting regime very early on.
The effect of Power VIP is greatly influenced by its Sativa heritage, and is very strong, mentally uplifting, and psychoactive. THC levels were tested at 20%, and resin is produced in abundance. Once the soaring Sativa high peaks and reaches the tipping point, a deeply relaxing Indica effect will spread throughout the body. The taste of Power VIP profits from sweet Indica flavours, blending with the rather spicy African Sativa aromas to form a smooth mix.
Power VIP is not for everyone!
