Barney's Farm - Runtz: An All-Natural Sweet Treat
Runtz has all the glam of an LA strain. Allegedly bred by Berner, a member of Cookies Fam, Runtz combines genetics from Zkittlez and Gelato, two heavyweight Cali favourites. She boasts 50/50 indica/sativa genetics, making for a versatile strain that grows well indoors, outdoors, or in a greenhouse.
Runtz plants grow vigorously as soon as they enter their vegetative phase. Indoors, this strain typically grows to 90–110cm tall, making it an ideal choice for growers working in the confined space of a tent or closet. Outdoors, Runtz likes warm temperatures and moderate humidity. The plant develops a thick canopy relatively quickly and benefits from regular defoliation and pruning; it also responds well to LST and HST techniques. Runtz’s bloom phase lasts roughly 55–60 days (early October harvest outdoors), at the end of which plants will be heavy with dense, candy-sweet flowers. Her yields can reach 600g/m² indoors and up to 1500g/plant outdoors.
Come harvest time, Runtz will reward you with big, dense flowers boasting tight stacks of swollen calyxes and a sweet-smelling coat of trichomes. Her aroma is reminiscent of the candies she is named after, combining an array of tropical fruit aromas with hints of dank fuel.
