From the supplier

Echinopsis macrogona, sometimes also referred to as trichocereus macrogonus belongs to the sacred cacti that are native to South America. Similar in appearance to the more-known Peruvian Torch (echinopsis peruviana), this cactus contains the powerful psychoactive alkaloid mescaline.

It is not exactly known where echinopsis acrogona originated from. Some say the cactus was discovered in Bolivia although no species of it can be found in Bolivia today. Others think that the cactus’ origin is possibly Brazil or Argentina.

Echinopsis macrogona (trichocereus macrogonus) looks similar to the Peruvian Torch. The cactus grows in columns and can reach a height of 3 meters with an average diameter of 3-5cm, some specimens can grow even wider. The cactus has a typical frosty, blueish colour. Anyone who prefers sprouting their own columns can go for Echinopsis macrogona (Trichocereus macrogonus) as a 20-seed pack.

Growing trichocereus macrogonus is very easy and comparable to as if you were to grow the San Pedro cactus or the Peruvian Torch. Echinopsis macrogona is a very hardy and resilient cactus that only needs the bare necessities to grow well. It needs very little water and then only in the hottest growing season. In summer it is sufficient if you water it once per week. Just make sure that you allow the soil to dry out between watering and the cactus will thrive.
