Sensi Seeds – Durban: Africa’s most wanted
Durban is one of the dominant genotypes in the South African region and it has been growing there for a very long time, under the hot African sun. Sensi Seeds managed to get their hands on a few original Durban seeds and Sensi's breeders have been cultivating this strain ever since, in its untampered, regular form. Very few sativa strains can match Durban’s unique properties.
Dutch Passion's take on this landrace, Durban Poison, has carried the name since the seventies import runs. Another continent, same purity: Acapulco Gold is the Mexican landrace that lit up the seventies.
Unlike the majority of sativa strains that are long and spindly and often require special care and ideal conditions, Durban is a very durable and robust plant that can grow in almost any climate. It takes up plenty of space, growing wide and tall, so make sure you put enough distance between the plants. Another option would be to use the ScrOG method. As a result you’ll get many single colas that are covered with dense, resin filled buds. Whether you’re growing it outside or indoors, if every plant's need is met, you will get above average yields for sativa standards in just 50-70 days of flowering.
Apart from its unique growing traits, the taste and high are what make Durban so popular. The taste is very tropical, sweet but with a bitter, lemony component, followed by an incredibly intense cerebral, trippy high. It starts with an uplifting, exhilarating feeling which slowly transforms into a deep, thought-provoking, psychedelic trance. Even though it’s a pretty exciting smoke, less experienced users are advised go easy with this one.
