Dutch Passion - THC-Victory: A Strain High In THCV
THC-Victory is a pioneering cannabis strain. The cultivar is one of the first commercial varieties to contain a THC:THCV ratio of 1:1. Her flowers contain approximately 6–8% THC and 6–8% THCV. Every cannabis lover is familiar with the psychoactive effects of THC and CBD. However, there are over 100 other cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Most strains only contain them in trace amounts, and haven’t been selectively bred to produce more. That’s mainly because our understanding of them is so minimal. THCV—or tetrahydrocannabivarin if you’re feeling nerdy—usually occurs in small quantities. However, THC-Victory has been bred over generations to express higher levels of the molecule.
Much like THC, THCV acts on CB1 receptors of the endocannabinoid system. However, its effects change depending on the dose. Small quantities work to block the receptor and may prevent THC from binding to the same site. In contrast, higher amounts of THCV activate the receptor and may produce psychoactive effects.
THC-Victory provides a large yield both indoors and outdoors. Her sativa-dominant genetic profile means she grows relatively tall. Plants start off slow in the early vegetative phase, then explode in growth after the fourth node has formed. Flowering time is relatively long at 11 weeks, but nothing crazy for a sativa.
THC-Victory is a superb strain for those looking to experiment with higher levels of new cannabinoids. Smoke or vape these flowers to feel the subtle effects, or craft extracts and edibles to take things to another level. Although she only contains around 6–8% THC, she still provides a mild and pleasant effect. You can get away with blazing this strain during the day without compromising your productivity. Her flowers also contain a fruity terpene profile, with hints of citrus standing out in the mix.
