From the supplier
A popular natural soporific, an effect boosted by mixing with hops, and at higher doses valerian induces a floaty feeling.
VALERIAN DOSAGE
Pour a few tablespoons into half a litre of water and boil for 5 minutes in a pot with a lid on it. Everything else on the relaxing shelf is a click away. Catnip (Nepeta cataria) comes as loose dried herb as well, while Passionflower 10x Extract is a 5g concentrate rather than plain plant matter.
A pack contains 80 grams of Valerian.
VALERIAN ACTIVE COMPOUNDS
- The sequiterpine ketone valeranon is responsible for its sedative effects.
- The alkaloid actinidine also affects the central nervous system neurotransmitter GABA and may be responsible for more psychoactivity.
Valerian boils for five minutes and pairs with hops, and both of them live in the herbs section. Valerian is one of the oldest names among our relaxing herbs. Traditionally brewed alongside it, Hops Flowers 20g adds a resinous bitterness.
